Read read read. Learn the language, join RTC's facebook page and look for pictures; The navy's hurry up and wait policy; No news is good news; The relief they will feel the second they get the form letter. That it takes time to get that letter. it doesn't happen quickly. That no matter what they are feeling, to ALWAYS be positive and encouraging to their SR in their letters and phone calls. Also that first 20 second phone call............just LISTEN. They only have 20 second. No time to talk. They will only have a few seconds to say I love you at the end. they need to understand that - it will make it easier. That the pants are rolled up because they had to roll them up to be measured for boots and did not have time to unroll them, not because of any other reason that is rolling through their minds. That if they do not get a special note in the 'kid in the box' or the form letter to not be upset... their SR is under alot of pressure and scared to death to take that risk. It's okay.
Mmm.............I think that's enough of what I've experienced. LOL
LETTERS??? CARE TO SHARE??
