Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by TechiTunes (COsubmom) on May 4, 2012 at 10:16am: good morning! so I have two letters from my son, he does not have mine yet. but he has two neighbors' letters. they are withholding mine as some strategy, whatever, I get it. its how they train you. I hope all the moms out there understand all this too. 42 days until PIR 6/15! we can make it. they are doing very well I understand for ship 11 Div 177. whew! what a roller coaster ride!!!

Up late then up early.... I don't think that is the way it is supposed to be lol. Subbing at the high school today. I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday :-)

Comment by cyndyj on May 3, 2012 at 10:03pm: Melody, I'm thinking that they'll get through the surgery end of things quickly..i hope anyway and I didn't think it would delay anything...hopefully. I do feel bad that it happened without us moms, they usually want us the most when they don't feel well. no letter today but maybe it really does take longer to get up here. I also saw where a number of sailors haven't received any letters yet...we've certainly been sending them..alot

Just hope this is not a set back for scheduled graduation day!! I'm sure this was the hardest week without mom being by his side.): agree with the "test".

Sounds about what I expected, but signed your Future Sailor so still being positive. Not the type of letters I got from Summer Camps, for sure, but hanging in there. I am sure the next letter will be more cheerful as she finishes adjusting. She apparently has not gotten any of our mail yet, hope it all catches up with her this week to lift her spirits

Also melody- I got a little jolt about the wisdom teeth, my son prior to leaving was thinking that he'd get his teeth pulled in boot camp. OUCH! Guess it's just another 'test', I hope all receive their letters today if not then tomorrow.
