Happy Monday, ladies!

Comment by batmomof3 on April 30, 2012 at 9:01am

Good morning ladies -- Star -- It WILL be a better day!!

Comment by diannep on April 30, 2012 at 8:49am

Star:  If he ends up undesignated while in bootcamp, then he will have a short A School at GL after PIR and be sent to his duty station, but probably will get leave to come home first before duty station.  I have heard that the school is about 4 weeks long.

Comment by diannep on April 30, 2012 at 8:48am

Star:  They can have a black or silver watch and a small religious silver medal (must be small to fit on dogtags...and must be silver).  They lock their things up at A School.  They learn very quickly that there is lots of theft so they must lock up their things.  They fail inspections if they do not have their person items locked up.

Length of A School depends on what they are going to A School for.  Varies with jobs.

Hang in there....bootcamp is not only emotionally up and down for the SRs, it is for the families as well!

Good morning all!

Star, since he went in as undesignated  he won't have much of an A-school. He will go to the fleet pretty quickly and then try out different jobs and see what he would like to do. I am not sure how they determine where he will go. I think it is based on what area he will be in. Like an undesignated Airman would go to Pensacola. You can definitely get some info from his recruiter. If you find out what area he is in we can figure out where his A-school will be.

I hope this will be a great letter week for all of you. Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best letter days :-)

Good morning ALL! Hopefully this week is our week to receive a letter from our SR's.. PLEASE PLEASE! The unknown is driving me nuts....." On a good note" We are almost at the half way point.. "sigh"

Yeah he was supposed to be a boatswain mate, but at the last week before he went away, they called and changed him to undetermined.  Which means he will train in several fields and a determination will come later.  Yep, I'm waiting and hoping for some information from him as soon as I get the first letter or call..........Just having a rough night.

Good night all!  <3

Comment by batmomof3 on April 29, 2012 at 10:47pm

Star -- it'll be okay.  we'll help you figure it out.  If he's going in right out of high school, he's probably an E-1 and you can easily google the pay schedule to see his actual rate of pay.  Are you sure you don't know what job he contracted for?  You can always call and ask his recruiter and he would be able to tell you where his A school is too.  or we can help you figure that out too.  You've joined /my  181/182 facebook so  you'll get tons of info there where we are all still learning.  And, you've got plenty of time to write your SR for answers as well.  Nothing that can't be taken care of.  Pray for peace and  then go get those answers!

Star -- what's going on tonight?  You're seeming a little stressed out! One day at a time and we;ll all get through this.

I was just sitting here reading about week 2 to my husband and now I'm freaked out that my son will not be able to learn/remember/recite all that is required of him.  I just turned to my husband and said "Oh please God, do not let them send him home now!!"
