For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Hotels can be booked asap as almost all can be adjusted with no penalties up til very close to PIR...usually 24 hours notice.

It has all of your pertinent info in it as well as the confidential password for the Vehicle Gate Pass for entrance to RTC. This is only needed if you plan on driving a vehicle onto RTC.

And in a strange way, I felt closer to my son! :-) Talked to many sailors who all crenged and laughed when I told them this was my son's second week at Greal Lakes (1 in bootcamp). They said its grueling but worth it. The older ones said, its changed alot since they were there (lot more laws; things they can't do) and that the goal is to test our recruits to see how they react under pressure. That is why there is so many questions.

It was an awesome day to see the carriers, sails, tanks, helicopters, etc, that he will one day be sitting in and machine guns, mortars, and missile launchers that he will one day be handling ! Gonna see if I can get some pictures posted... mmm, not sure!

A shout out to all my GL sisters here! We are all so proud!

Comment by PaulaP (Ship11/Div 178) on April 21, 2012 at 10:35pm: It looks like Divisions 171 to at least 182 or 183 plus a 900 division will PIR on this date. Just got our form letter today. I didn't even recognize my son's handwriting. He's always printed ok, but this was perfect!!!!
