Diannep, I'm hoping to hear something today or tomorrow from my son on the Battlestations date.  No news yet on whether any flags were won in their division.  Their RDC told them they could call home if they got 4 flags.  Since he didn't call home we know they got 3 or less flags. Looking forward to that Battlestations discussion group you'll be starting.

Thanks so much for the info on the flags and pennants.  It's not "too much" info.  The more the clearer!  A great day to all : )  Praying for NO INJURIES today at GL!

Anyone have any Battlestations dates yet?  I will start a schedule in the BattleStations discussion group above when you receive dates from your SRs.  They should start next week!

No wonder my son was so disappointed that they didn't earn their flag! Earning them appears to be a real honor.I sure hope they earn at least one...it would be sad if they do not earn any....I will be sad for him and the rest of the recruits in his div who put the effort in.

Thank you for the info.

Also if you want to learn about BS21 look in the groups section and it will be there.

yes, Lala.  I remember the "Oz" label!  That was one of the groups I started..quite an entertaining group of ladies!  :-)

Good morning, all!  Have a great day!

fireteamleaderwife:  Was Angie the one you asked?  What about the Hall of Fame flag? I'm wondering if she listed that one below but called it something else.  I know that they get very excited to win that one...my son told me that they had a good chance for it before BattleStations, and once Battlestations was completed, he was so excited that they won it.

Here is some info on Flags.

These posts are taken from our divisional group.

A sailor that had our DIV Chief joined to cheer us on. She is very proud of Chief.

They can get the drill flag, athletic flag, academic flag, and inspection flag; all the scores are added up for an average. Then if they score high enough they get a Battle E flag...and if they score even higher still they get the CNO flag. That one's really hard to get... When I graduated, my division and one other division got the Battle E, and that other div also got the CNO...and that was out of 7, so it's tough. Sometimes divisions get no flags or only get a couple...they'll be missing flags at graduation. I'm sure 180 will beast it, though, knowing their RDC. Then there's the Captain's Cup flag...the olympic looking one. Only two divisions in the training group will get it; one integrated and one all male. And I probably just gave you way more info than you were looking for lol

My post to her:

Got my Questionnaire back today!

This is what my son said they got Flags for:

Athletic, Star, Scholastic, Drill

Pennants for:

Athletic, Star, Scholastic, Phase, Independant Steaming

Ooooo...need an explanation please

Her response:

lol alrighty! Athletic and scholastic are pretty self explanatory; PT and academics. Star is the compartment flag...the one they get for inspections. The pennants just mean they earned the flag more than once...they get a little pennant to go on the top of the flag. (You'll see them at graduation). There are three phase, but I can't remember the names of them. I think CART, MCA, and the final phase. Pennant for Phase means they're in the final phase...it lets FQA know "Hey, these guys have been here a while and they're almost Sailors...watch them even closer for mess ups" lol and then the Pennant for Independent Steaming means they can march to and from different places without an RDC present.
