Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I agree with all the advice to Squeekers.......I remember how hard it was for me when my husband left for the Army 2 weeks after our son was born. You just have to take it one day at a time, and remember that you have a choice in whether you see the glass as half full or half empty. Right now it's especially hard because you can't communicate with them except by letters...but it will get better. That inner strength is there.....you just have to find it.

He was on the last row to go, when they all have their masks on. He said the anxiety watching the other rows taking off their masks was NOT fun. When he finally got out of there, he said burning, snotty, etc...people gagging...and then a few minutes later...they are fine and laughing because they made it through!

Linda, I spoke with a friend yesterday whose son is in A-School. She said "Ricky" means Recruit and the crud is a respiratory condition or stomach virus that is similar to what kids get when they go back to school after their summer break. My son has the respiratory kind and he said they take good care of them. His last letter said he was feeling a little better. Hope your son is better soon too.
