Donna646 - remind us where your son is!  Ours says the food is much better at Goose Creek than BC, but he never really complained about the food.

Our Sailor will be "classing up" along with KrisMom's son for MM school next week.  Whew!  Here we go!  Hope you all have a great 4th and those who get to spend time with their Sailors, have a blast!

KC'smom - too uncanny about the bone.....thankfully with your medical background, you know what you're talking about and just how cool it is.  : )  The rest of us will appreciate it from a layman's perspective and smile with you...

Audrey - hope all the details get worked out and he'll be right there next week along with the rest of the big group that headed over last Monday.

Miss you all, thankful that they are moving on with their Navy experiences and looking forward to staying in touch!

That's awesome fa4Airtran.
My son said they served steak and crab kegs in the galley today for lunch. He said it was good. They sure do eat good.
KC'smom-hope you heal soon

If his leave is approved, my sailor might be coming home for the weekend. I will see him thurs. & Fri. but have to leave for a wedding in St. Louis Sat. morning. Two days are better than no days.He gets to drive his car back to Meridian.

update on my foot: So, as it turns out, I actually have a fractured bone in my foot. (all along I was told I tore a tendon, which I may still have). Went for a repeat Xray today and the Dr. was able to see the fracture now. Funny thing - my son broke his Talus bone and i broke my Calcaneous bone. Anatomically, these two bones are right next to eachother. Talus sits on the Calcaneous. My son is taller than me so maybe that's why his is on top. We both broke the same foot (right) Everyone, including my son thinks that it is so bizarre and creepy that this happened to us 5 days apart.  hee hee. It has made what would be an otherwise very depressing summer into a not-so-bad summer b/c I know my son is dealing with it too.

Just thought I'd share on the foot saga.

I talked online to my sailor last night.  They are trying to get him to Nuke EM school sometime this week. There was a mix up with some labwork they are trying to sort out. He is staying packed and ready to go at a moment's notice. He had watch all day yesterday and finally got to go use the computer last night.  It was a short conversation, but, just seeing him tell me he loves me made my day. I'll be staying with this group as well as the nukes. While I want to stay up on the nuke stuff, I want to hear about all of the sailors from this group and their news and experiences.

This is home base for me, too.  First stop whenever I log onto Navy For Moms.  I enjoy hearing from all of you.

We're finally going to see my Sailor on Friday!  Yeah!  I can't wait.  My son is "classing up" on Mon.  for Nuke MM.  In the meantime he has indoctrination and cleaning to do.

Lala: Beautiful family pic! Which one is your sailor?
Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on June 27, 2011 at 11:40am

Good morning everyone, I am back :-) We had a beautiful wedding and enjoyed our weekend with our family. Most of our family members have gone back home now but our Sailor doesn't have to go back until Wednesday. Right now she is sleeping and she is planning on going to bust your butt falls with a bunch of her friends today. I guess I have to share her lol. There are way too many pages on all the PIR groups to even try and catch up so if I missed anything important let me know :-)

Tysmom, you're right about the traffic in Chicago.  We missed the meet and greet because we were in the same boat as you.  We probably even drove alongside each other from time to time and didn't realize it.     I wonder if our sons are hanging out together sometimes.
