For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

He had suggested it before he left for Basic. His girlfriend and my husband and I have been practicing to get it right. I hope that when your son calls you are the one he calls :0)

I was waiting until I knew whether our son would be grad & go or not. But I realized I should not wait so I'll be making reservations somewhere today. Does anyone know if the Navy Lodge is a good choice?

I agree with Jessica below as my son ran out on his and bought another at the NEX (mid phone call with me...called right back on the new card). But many ladies mail their SRs cards so they don't have to worry about it.

If he only gets one he may call his girlfriend. I don't know. She had told him before he left to call his Mom. We will see. I won't be angry if he calls her instead. A little sad maybe. But, I know he lives her dearly.
