I so agree with you about the bungee for an umbilical cord.  I rushed home to find nothing as well.  I at least don't feel alone with all of you!

I was really hoping for a letter today, too.  I almost mugged the mailman when there was nothing but junk in the box!  RWG, just remember, when it comes to our kids, the umbilical cord doesn't have to be cut, it turns into a bungee cord.  Let's pray that we all get letters tomorrow and calls on Sunday.  Have a great night moms!

Everyone, please remember that you are not allowed to post your SR's last names on here.  I believe I see one on here.  If it is yours, please remove it (or MommaBee can since she is the group creator).  If it happens to be a first name, it is allowed (they go by last names in bc), but we advise that no one use any names for their SRs.  Just better not to draw any connection between your comments on this board and your particular SR.  Anonymity is better! :-)

Patty, My son said that there is mail there for them. But they cant get it yet because there division is messing up too much..uh oh!. He said everyone seems to be having trouble making racks and keeping their lockers perfect. They will get the hang of it.  About the bandaids I  asked him if he wanted me to send some and he said they can get them there. I just hope he's not afraid to ask for them. Neosporin and and bandaid at night would really help. I think I will follow you moms and send him some. BTW ladies..Thanks for letting me join in on your very informative discussions and comments. I guess that because I am the one that raised my son I'm having a hard time completely cutting him loose from under my wing. I expect that to happen in about 6 weeks when I see a new man at graduation. Thanks again

My daughter is in Ship 2 Div 931.  Any other moms with PIR 6/17/11 whose son/daughter is in the same ship/div?

RWG and Elizabeth, that is great that you got phone calls -- just to hear their voice at this point would be wonderful!  Does anyone know if they have started to receive mail yet? I have also started to include 2 bandaids in every card/letter I send.

I also got a surprise call from my son. At first there is shock....is everything ok??? It was, he called for reference information. Sounds tired, maybe homesick too. He couldnt small tslk bit he is good. I keep asking "any surprises?" He said no.
Comment by Sunnyb on May 4, 2011 at 12:51pm
Thanks for sharing your surprise call with us RWG.. it's helpful to picture what your son is saying, might be the same thing our SR's are doing too. I needed that since the mail man hasn't brought me that letter I'm stocking him for yet. I just sent band-aids in the mail the other day because of what you great moms' suggested.
