OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Got a surprise phone call from mySR yesterday. At first I couldnt help thinking that something is wrong(no news is good news). But he just needed some personal info for his security clearance. Maybe because of his"IT' job rating. He said everything is going well. He has made new friends also. Says that most of them were a little homesick but they starting to come out of it and are adjusting to the Navy way of life. The only issue he has right now is he has blisters on his feet from the boots and his feet hurt. He also has a little bit of a sore throat. I told him that alot of the recruits go through that and to hang tough and it will all work out. I asked him if he feels like he is gonna succeed in boot camp? He said Oh yes no problem. Im so proud of him. Cant wait til June 17th.

I am having so much trouble with my email on this site. I thought it was fixed but it is not. I cannot send a reply to any messages and when I try to the whole message disappears. If you have sent me a message asking questions or wanting info about ordering the PIR ribbons please send me the message to my regular email address: uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com and include your N4M's name and PIR date so I know who you are. I know several others are having problems with the email on this site as well. :-(  Thanks, Lala
