I got my form letter today. He left 1 week ago today.  The few brief lines he wrote were enough to convince me that he's okay.  (He was being a smartass!)  If he hadn't been, I would have worried.  We live in the middle of nothing but cows and horses but, when I pulled that envelope out of the mailbox, I'm sure everyone for miles around heard me cheer. lol  He's Ship 03 Div 210.  Are there any other moms from that ship/div?

OH I'm so happy and encouraged to hear you moms say your SR is upbeat about bootcamp. I was actually a little afraid for the first letter thinking it might be misery. I'm on facebook to keep up with my other son 9hrs. away at college. Today I wrote on my status, "Dear Neighbors, If I look a little sad at the mail box, it's because I didn't get a letter, if you hear me yelling... I DID..!  Hopin for my first letter this week. Wed. will be the 2 week mark.

RWG- I think he liked it pretty good. It is self paced so they can take a little extra time and study at a normal pace or they can do like my SIL and spend all their time studying and going to class and finish much faster than normal. He was in a bit of a hurry to finish and join my daughter/his wife in VA Beach lol. He was in Pensacola around the 2nd week of November and he graduated the first week of February and was in VA Beach by Valentines Day.

Caseysmom-That post cracks me up. I can picture that in my head as well lol.

When I got the form letter from my son, he said "boot camp is a lot like high school, only more angry"  (He went to a private school, lol)  I think for some recruits, they are so happy with their choice that they really do enjoy it.  Glad to hear that some of your SR's are doing well.
