Diannep- Thanks so much for the information. I checked his account and didn't see a deposit. So, I was curious. He has asked me to let him know in his letters of his balance and when a deposit goes through.

Sunnyb:  Welcome!  Actually they start training on different days.  They arrive up there at different times also.  Some SRs in the same PIR group will have arrived many days before others in the same PIR group---they start filling up the divisions in that PIR group.  My son was one of those...didn't start training until he had been there about 10 days.  They will all PIR on the same day, but will do their testing at different times.

Each division has a "brother" division that they train with so they are on the same schedule.  My son's division was one of the first two divisions in his PIR group, so they were a bit ahead in their training and were the first to go through BattleStations (final test before they become sailors).

Some ladies keep their phones in their bras just to not miss that call!  :-)

Linda:  They are free to "donate" the clothes up there too...but I have heard of others who were not planning to mail back their clothes, and they did it anyway.  If they arrived with cellphones, they have to mail those back-- so may as well add the clothes!

Donna:  Some have posted in some groups that their SRs got a deposit in Fri.

Pay during bootcamp usually takes 3-4 weeks to start after they arrive.  Those with Navy Fed accounts have their deposits put in a day earlier. My son left the last week of Nov 2009, and his first pay was not put in until the first week in Jan 2010.

Does anyone know if our sailors get a pay today? It's the first and fifteenth right? Just curious

I am right with everybody with the phone thing--even put it in a plastic bag to take to the hot tub!

Hi ladies, and one dad (I was reading all your posts)

So glad to be a part of PIR 6/17. I'm guessing everyone who graduates on that date started the same time my son did? April 20th. I have so much to learn. No letter or calls yet. I now practicing trying to keep my cell phone with me.. the more I try, the more I loose it. Found a chain, gonna hang it around my neck.

Blessed to be with you.
