Donna:  The form letter can come anytime within the first 2 weeks of them leaving...or longer.  Hopefully this is your week to receive it! Have you received the "box" yet?

I'm kinda bummed. We have not re is Ed our form letter yet. I hope all is well.

Patty... just just send a few so as not to draw attention to the envelope if it is too thick.  That is what makes the SRs have to open them in front of the RDCs and the SRs could get razzed a little for the "bandaids from home."  So just tuck a few into each letter you send so the letters are normal thickness.

Thanks JessicaB for the bandaid tip.  They won't get in trouble for us sending them?  I also noticed how neat my son's hand writing was even on the lines he wrote at the bottom of the letter!

MamaCindy, I was surprised at my daughter's handwriting (or printing) when we received our "form" letter also.  She commented that it's the Navy way -- big changes being made is right!

Got the official letter today!  It was so good to get the few lines from him.  Got tickled at how neat his writing was!  Looks like the "change" is underway!

So happy to see this group posted -- thank you!  My daughter is in Ship 2 Division 931 with PIR 6/17.  I look forward to all the comments from fellow Navy Moms/Dads/Spouses.  You all help to keep my spirits up during this difficult time; it's a blessing to have this contact.
