Today is going to be tough.  Those goodbyes are always so hard!  But we had a wonderful weekend with our daughter.  We did whatever she wanted to do......go to the mall, go out to eat, go to the movies (even though she slept through the whole movie, lol!).......we told her this was HER weekend, and we have the privilege of just tagging along!  The weather here could not have been better.  Wish I could stay!!  I will have to make plans for coming back when she is out the the first phase of A school.  I will check back here periodically, but I will move on to the AECF group, as I know the other members will also be joining new groups.  But I will always be a member of Navy for Moms, so message me anytime!  Thanks for being here, and being so supportive!

I'm glad all you ladies have had great times with your Sailors.  Isn't it awesome that you can call them sailors now instead of SRs?  :P   I'm hopin' for my weekly call today.  I miss him so much I slept cuddling the blanket he used. lol  I'm a mess.

Pianomom-he had a last minute waiver to get finished up. He has a metal plate and 8 screws in his leg from a football injury. He will be off to penscola for 8 weeks. A 7 hour drive from our house.
We basically let him decide what to do. Other than eating out he wanted to shower And just hang out in his civvies in the hotel room.

and yes--i don't know who said this, but somebody also posted on the facebook page--a head's up about your new sailor.  our son said--i wish they had prepared us for the shock of walking in those doors.  seeing and having contact with NO ONE for 8+weeks, and then this...so we kinda let him decide what he wanted to do and didn't try to push.

i have been gone from my computer for 3 and a half days and i have over 200 N4M messages!   HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!   all of us are a MESS!  i guess after today, i will start looking for my next group, but i will probably come back to this group for awhile to see where you all are.  our sailor is in san antonio.

Squeekerz--it sounds like to me you have come a long way in your thinking.  isn't it good to have a group like this where you can bare your soul? and yes--whoever said it back in all these posts, your SR is GETTING A PAYCHECK!!  WOO HOO!!  that is not always so common these days, and i know that from personal family experience.

KC'smom--by the time your son is well and back on his training routine, he will have earned enough money to BUY A CAR or something else.

donna646--why is your son in THU until tuesday?  where will he be going?

audrey--please keep us posted as to when your son passes his run.  i will be praying for him.

thanks to every one of you for keeping me sane (at least as much as can be expected) over the last 8+ weeks.  i will look for you on this site from time to time, but if you want to message me, that would be GREAT!   i loved every single minute of talking with the ones i got to meet, i am sad that i didn't get to meet more of you, and YES--whoever would ever live where they have to drive through chicago must be crazy.  when we FINALLY got to the motel after that experience, i said that to the guys at the desk.  and they just busted out laughing and said--"nobody who lives here drives into the city!"  so there you have it.

much love to all--thanks for the links about the PIR video and division shirts!

What a wonderful weekend. I'm sorry it has to end.
We are packed and ready to go. We will get a few hours this morning with our Sailor, then it's off to the airport and back to Florida. The good news is he flies to Pensacola on Wednesday for A School. He will be a mere 7 hours away.
Be strong everyone. GO NAVY!!!

What a wonderful weekend...  We are heading to the airport at 3am.  His dad and I realized tonight that we must get use to the good-byes...  WOW this is hard being a Navy family.  I was in denial on how hard it is to give that final hug!  We all must stay strong.  GO NAVY.......
