ckwinn - here is some information that I found about A school in Goose Creek. I find it helpful to "peek ahead". My sailor laughed and said that I now know more about his A school than he does.

this is just something I wanted to share has anyone else taken your sailors letters and read each one in order as they came to you I did that and at first my son was so full of despair and said he was doing so poorly and then as time went on his letters became more positive.it's as if you can watch them grow in their letters.

Ok, sorry, ckwinn:  Just saw your previous post where you ordered the PIR DVD. Good!  If I were you, I would invite friends and family over to watch it ...and make a celebration of it...just like you were there!  It should arrive in the mail to you within about 3-4 weeks or so.

ckwinn:  There is a graduation for them after A School...not formal, but it is a celebration because they made it through.  It is on a different scale from PIR (where they are "strutting their stuff!"  HA!) but sometimes parents do go to those and I know they are so happy to see it!  Hope you can go.  You did order the PIR DVD, right?  They give more "close up" shots on there as they pass by the "review stand."  Right after they march in.  That is when I finally spotted my sailor (didn't see him through the entire PIR).  Congrats to your new sailor!
