blueeyes:  The sailors are allowed to take some personal items to A School with them via the black or navy (plain) backpacks or duffle bags.  In fact, some from one of the recent PIR groups who did not take black bags were asked when they arrived:  Where is your "stuff?"  So...although they cannot take these back to RTC, they are allowed to receive them if you meet them at the airport for their flights to A school

Ladies, just a reminder....no SR's last names are allowed on this site please!  A breach of Navy security.  If you have posted your SR's last name, please delete the post.  Thanks!  If you need to disclose your SR's last name, please private message the info.

Lala-about the DEP test. That makes sense. When he was in DEP he completed all the requirements before he left. Once again thank you for the information.

INSOMNIA tonight - I am sure it will be even worse on June 16.  Been gone for a few days & have enjoyed reading all the comments.  MamaCindy, that was especially beautiful what you wrote.

I am adding my prayers for the injured & sick SRs. Poor little guys :(

The countdown clock is looking much better now that the days are in single digits.

See ya all then.

Thank you for the response Julie R.  I get what we can put in the bags now that you have enlightened me but where were we told this info that we could bring them a bag??  Just curious???

blueeyes253 - look back around pages 7 and 8. The moms have posted info regarding the black/navy duffle bags.  They are bags you can give your SR if you are going to meet them at the airport. My grandmother lives in Port Hueneme and I live about an hour and a half south of there.  It is a very nice place and the weather is awesome pretty much all year round.

My son just graduated 6/3!  It was awesome, can't wait for your PIR group to see!  My nephew is in the 6/17 PIR, but is also a State Flag performer in Ship 2/Div 931, so he was in my son's ceremony (I also took tons of pics of 931 - choir too -  and they are listed in the 6/3 program handout)!  I got to see both my son and nephew!  I am trying to find out when Battlestation is for that group (2/931) as it is not listed under your Battlestation discussion.  Does anyone have that information!?!  Thanks!!

Peanutbutter uniform is what we call the black pants with the tan colored shirt. I think it is actually supposed to be the ones that are tan pants and tan shirts but now they are both called that. Here is what they look like, at least a little bit lol. It's the one in the top right corner,

I believe the DEP test is requirements that have to be made before they leave while they are still in DEP (Delayed Entry Program) They have to complete all of the requirements and be signed off on them by the recruiter and pass the very first PFA test when they get to bootcamp. They can also advance to E2 if they have a certain number of college credits.

ckwinn, I am so glad you have found someone to take some pics of your son at PIR :-) It would be best if you remove your last post since it has his his first and last name as well as where he will be going. These pages are visible by the public from anywhere and we want to protect all the sailors from anyone who may not have the best intentions :-) Just click on the X in the top right corner of your post to delete it and you can send his name to friends on here who are willing to help through a private message.
