Got two letters from my SR! He said (though he may be exaggerating :P) that they look at him like a king because his injury is currently the worst one out of those he's with. Haha. His letter was extremely upbeat and happy. He said it's pretty boring, but he met a lot of awesome guys, and that there were quite a few of them that are into Dungeons and Dragons like he is. He's having me write him lists to send to him about random information in the game. lol I love seeing him act normal. His few letters were so down and depressed that it didn't feel like he was even himself. Now he's nerdy as ever!

He gave me a schedule for their day.

Wake up at 6am - shave and stuff.
Morning Chow at 7:20am.
Study until 12pm.
Afternoon Chow.
Study, read, or do whatever kind of quiet activities they can until 5-6pm
Evening Chow.
They shower and stuff (his words lol) and are in bed by 8pm.

That means he's getting tons of sleep!!! What's interesting to me is that in one letter he said he's having fun, but at the very end he said that he was going to ask them if he could be sent home.

Probably best to not worry about their week/day count.  They will PIR on 6/17, don't worry.  They make it somehow!  Just be asking when BattleStations is for their division.

MamaCindy:  They do not count Sat/Suns nor holidays.
Comment by MamaCindy (MMW TM) on June 2, 2011 at 3:22pm

Oh, Diannep, I was typing as you posted.  At least for 205, the earliest 5-1 would be is today.  Do they count Saturdays?  I know Holidays are not counted.  And are there 5 or 6 days in the week count?  THANKS!!!!

This is as dramatic as waiting for those 1st letters! : )

Remember, "graduation" for them is not PIR...it is the capping ceremony which is the day after they start BattleStations.

....unless today (Jun 2nd)  is Week/Day 5-3, and so the 13th would be week/day 6-5 for them (remember, weekends/holidays don't count).  Then they would graduate the next morning (Tues, Jun 14th) which is week/day 7-1 for them.  Just my guess!

Adds up to the info I have.  Very little wiggle room for travel arrangements to PIR.
Comment by diannep on June 2, 2011 at 3:16pm
That couldn't be right, pianomom. They should be into week #6 by next week.  This should be week #5 for them if they are doing BattleStations on the 13th. They train through week/day 6-5, then have BattleStations.  So I'm assuming that maybe today is 5-4 for them?  Then next Fri would be 6-5 for them and they do BattleStations the next week, on the 13th, from what we have heard.

Pianomom- I completely understand. My son did something like that in his last letter. He said, "we graduate 7-1 day" that freaked me out. Of course I was thinking July 1. Found out he was talklking military 7 week day 1. I was ready to start changing flight.
So 6-3 week 6 day 3 would be June 13. Right?
