Diannep- his clothes smelled just like him. I put his jacket on and wrapped it around me. My husband thought I was crazy considering it is in the 90's here.

I am still waiting for the form letter so I may have an address. I have many letters waiting to be mailed. I miss my young man.

Donna:  Some say they can "smell" the clothes as soon as the box is opened!  If they have been in them for a good while, they have quite a "ripe" smell!  :-)

I just realized that your SR's will graduate exactly 6 months after my sailor graduated.  :)

Good Afternoon Ladies.  I'm Betsy and a recent "veteran" mom on here.  My son graduated from BC in December and is currently in Pensacola, FL for his A school. I will be checking in on your group like JessicaB, Lala and diannep and others to help you with any questions you might have.  There is a great group of ladies on here to help get you through the next couple of months.  Please ask away!

We got the box today. I haven't opened it yet. Waiting for my husband to get home from work. We will open it together.

Casey's mom- I am sure I will smell my sons clothes also. Some would say were weird. I just say were Mom's who love and miss our sailors.

my son also left 4/20. He was not able to call me until 2:20am Chicago time. I'm assuming he did not go to sleep at all that night/morning. Poor guy. I got my 'box' today, but no form letter. Can't wait to get it. I let his dog smell all of his clothes. Thought it might help him. Yes, of course I also smelled his clothes. Hahahaha. Can't help it. His father died several years ago and I still have 1 of his shirts that I smell every now and then for an old scent. Just going crazy is all.!!!!

Monday, 4/25 - My son arrived in GL late Wednesday night, April 20.  Got "the last call" from him about 12:40 a.m. Thursday.  I have been an emotional wreck all week but it's getting better.  This site has definitely helped!  He is in Div. 931, Ship 2.    Today, I was shocked when I came home and received his form letter in the mail already.  He wrote some lines at the end and sounded very upbeat.  From the post mark, this letter was sent out on Friday.  He said he didn't get to sleep at all the first night and finally got to get some sleep at 9:30 the second night.  Said he had blood drawn, had already started taking some tests, there is lots of paperwork and that he was so tired he couldn't even remember everything he had done so far.  I'm hoping they got a chance to get caught up on sleep over the weekend.  Haven't gotten his "box" yet.  Thanks JessicaB for providing the link to the Questionaires!  They are great!
