~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thank you so much TMansmom!  I know anything is greatly appreciated by Sarge!  I feel like these last weeks have been a real learning experience for all of us and knowing that there is someone else out there going through the same emotions as I am has been a HUGE help.  Don't know how Moms from a years ago did it without all this modern technology.  I know the following 6 weeks will be just as hard when she is in A School and then the not knowing of where she will be stationed is a little unsettleing too.  but at least we will be able to talk to them more often.  This is a new adventure for them and us.  My SR is my only child and being far away from  her hurts my heart.  But I know she is doing something great for our country and bettering herself at the same time.  I plan on racking up a lot of Dividend Miles!  LOL!  God Bless us all for raising such great kids.  A retired Lt. Col. from the USMC told me the other day that there are only 3% of the kids today that are signig up to serve their country - made me very proud that my daugther was in that 3%!

9 More Days!  Hugs going out to the ladies who haven't heard from their SR's.  I like Linda's comment - No news is good news!  I did find out over the weekend that my daughter has had more 5 minute phone calls than what I have gotten but chose to call friends.  It was a hard pill to swallow but I remember myself at that age and that she was excited to talk to her friends that she left as well.  Hang in there everyone!  We will be hugging our children before we know it - but these next 9 days are going to seem like an enterinty! Sending out the last letter to her by the end of the week!  That makes me smile just saying that!  I hope everyone is gathering some items for the basket project and having a little fun with it.  Keeps my mind occupied ;-)  have a great week everyone!

Hang in there, TMansmom.  Almost there!

Good Morning All !

My son is in the 932 division as well.  I am going to concentrate on the 9 days until I see him.  Not on the 3 plus weeks I have not talked to him.  We know for sure we will be getting the I am a Sailor call early next week.  It has been hard at times but we are almost there.  Ladies we made it to single digits days.  Remember the navy way No news is good news.

Remember Gals,

This is the time they have hunkered down and are earning the flags for their divisions...their letters are their communications with you at this time.  Some of you may get reward calls from them this week, so keep those phones charged and handy!!

Tmansmom: No words, just air hugs and prayers. Be strong PNM. Xoxo
It'll be 4 weeks on the 11th since I last spoke to my SR. Im trusting God and my SR, that theres good reason.

There is coffee available in the PIR Hall, but you should be able to bring your own if you like, including food water, OJ, etc.  Yes, bringing in an IPad is fine too.

Tromar66: if I recall correctly, I believe you can bring snacks, but no liquids. Not sure about coffee though since its in a cup and not a bottle.

Does everyone seem to arrive to PIR at 630am? What is the latest you recommend we arrive? I know breakfasf at most hotels is served at 6am , hoping to have a chance to eat at 6am and then head to rtc? Vet moms what do you suggest?
Comment by Linda on June 9, 2014 at 9:01pm
Can you bring a iPad into the hall for PIR. Husband would like to have something to do while we are waiting for it to start. Planning on getting there early for a good seat.
