THeir Academic Flag...hope they did!

I agree with Lala and FTLW.  It gets confusing with "bootcamp weeks" compared to "training weeks!"

mumof4:  It is good that his day 1 is on Mondays and day 5 on Fridays--easy to remember---for now.  BUT...that will change after Memorial Day.  His "new" day 1 will be Tues starting next week, and day 5 on Mondays starting the following week.  They "move back" a day with holidays.

Thanks guys......that makes sense.  He said they were waiting to hear if they had earned a flag to carry at PIR from the test......  Here's hoping!

LaLa is right...

"Week One" of What to expect... post is the actual first week they are there...but this is P days...Processing Days.

"Week Two" is about the First Week of Training Days or DOT (Day of Training. There are 6 weeks of DOT.So this would be "Weeks 2-7" of the post.

"Week eight"  is the Last week which is Battlestations and PIR.

So yes...that Discussion is based on the Eight Weeks of Boot Camp all together.

So it goes:

"P" Days

6 weeks of Training days

Battlestations and PIR

The test you are talking about is taken in the middle of Training Week 2...the third week that they are actually there from day of arrival.

lol mumof4, I don't think you are impaired it's more likely that things with the Navy, or any branch of the military, are never exact. Processing days don't count as training days so you are right about that. My guess would be that the "what to expect each week" would be written for each week they are there not actual training weeks. At least that is what makes sense to me :-)

This may be a really stupid question, but......my SR said he was on day 2/5 on Friday.  I understand what that means, but when I looked at the "What your SR is doing at boot camp by the week" discussion on Boot Camp Group, it has week 1 as processing.  So, can I safely assume that we are entering week 4, even though their training was 2/5?  Week 4 is the firearms.....  And since my SR said they had taken the test on rank and recognition/ship recognition already, that appears to be week 3 on the list!  Help!   I think I am Boot Camp impaired!  :)

I had a friend who just graduated from bc tell me today that there is a chance that either tomorrow or tuesday we could possibly get a phone call, he said that its a "manditory" call but I am not 100% sure... So hopefully those of us who didnt get a phone call recieve a call this week.

Bell and Mumof4: It is so amazing that three moms of the eight "side boys" have connected through N4M's. My son will be shocked when I tell him this in his next letter. He has already been astonished at how informed I am of things that he has either gone through or will be going through. This site is such a blessing!!!
