I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! My family and I took a weekend trip to a lake in Wisconsin and we drove right by Great Lakes to get there. We took time to stop on our way home "just to look". We did see 2 females in blue camo on guard watch, but of course it wasn't Roxanne. There is a park right next to the base and as we drove through it it took us to an overlook on the beach of Lake Michigan where we sat at a picnic table and ate lunch. Even though Roxanne was not with us, it was peaceful to know we were that close to her. We stopped at the Navy Museum but they are closed on Sundays. We also drove around and located our hotel and the Sundance Saloon so we would have an idea of where everything is for graduation weekend - I can't wait!
Marcy, I hope things work out for your daughter real soon and that the truth comes out! Lean on the Lord and he will carry you through this!
Hello all, RTC Great Lakes posted this status on their Facebook page yesterday for Mother's Day. I thought I would share this with you all here as well:
Today is Mother's Day and we at Recruit Training Command bow to all you mothers out there who have sons or daughters currently in boot camp and those whose sons or daughters have gone through boot camp.
We recognize it is not an easy task to see your children off to the military and have limited communication for eight weeks. However, as you remain strong and supportive during those eight weeks by continually writing to your recruits, you are giving them the encouragement, confidence and motivation they need to succeed in becoming a Sailor the world's finest navy.
When you first spot your son or daughter marching into the drill hall at graduation and see them for the first time in their uniform, marching tall and proud as you have never before seen them, you will find yourself overwhelmed with pride, love and sheer joy as you scream out your Sailor's name.
Each week at graduation we get to witness the incredible scene: The big white garage door opens and even before the Sailors come into full view and only their legs are visible, the entire crowd is already on their feet, screaming with excitement. As each division marches by the crowd, while everyone is overcome with excitement, it is the mothers who are the most overwhelmed.
They are shouting out their sons' and daughters' name, pointing, and laughing, hugging their family, as tears are streaming down their faces. Tears of pride. Tears of love. Tears for the sheer joy of seeing their sons' and daughters' faces for the first time in eight weeks.
As the Sailors march by, they maintain their serious faces and military bearing. However...we can see while their faces and locked into position, their eyes are not. Their eyes are scanning the crowd looking for their loved ones. Imagine how difficult it is for them to not be able to break out into a huge smile and wave at you when their eyes lock into yours.
At the end of the ceremony when the announcer yells "Liberrrrrty!!!" it's a mighty collision of Sailors and families on the drill deck as everyone leaps into each others' arms. Moms are bawling and refusing to let go and give anyone else a chance at hugging their new Sailor. You will not be able to stop staring and looking at your Sailor.
So, to all you mothers out there (who are probably already crying and smiling by the time they reach this sentence) we bow to you in respect for sending us your sons and daughters. We promise they are being well taken care of and they are eager with anticipation to have you see them in their uniforms at graduation.
This is your day, moms. Today you relax. At graduation, you will not. You'll be too busy looking for more tissues to wipe those tears of pride.
Marcy: I have always found that in the worst of the times I have more strength than I ever imagined. I truly believe this is a quality God gives us as mothers to help our children through their difficult times...to show them the way. You must dig deep now and be strong for your daughter. The truth will come out. Your daughter's character will shine through...and regardless of what happens, she will be stronger in the end. Sometimes it is hard to see the light, but I agree with the others when they say "all things happen for a reason". You're on a bumpy road, for sure, but it will smooth out soon. Believe this...and hold on. .
Thank you mum and all. This is sooo distressing right now. Please, God, give me comfort and strength!!
Marcy - I am memorizing a verse, Jeremiah 29:11 - "I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future." We sure don't understand sometimes, but God does have a plan!
I echo what the others are saying, marcy....that the truth comes out and your daughter continues in her training. And-- so very sorry about your father's death in addition to this. When it rains, it pours....but praying for strength for you!
Oh Marcy.....I am so sorry! Prayers that the COO will realize the truth and take care of the situation!
Thanks Lala for posting the link for the FB page for WallacesMom.....
I got a from my daughter Saturday. I pray that no other moms out there get a call like this. 2 Girls from another division decided to accuse my daughter of harrasement and stating they were afraid for their safety. My daughter has never hurt another human being let alone a bug. She is a fun loving gal, who always had lots of friends. My daughter was immediately removed from her division, and placed into another division temporarily, untill the COO mets with her for a final decision. She will either be set back to P1, Processing, Day 1 and repeat all over again, or she will be sent home. My husband and I are so disgraught over this. We thought sending her to the Navy, she would be safe. There is not a thing we can do for her, but PRAY!!!! So put this on top of the fact that I had to lay my father to rest last week,, I'm hanging by a string!!! Please pray for me and my daughter. I pray no one else has to go through this!!!
