Oops...I think I need to get off for a while and come back...I am "mentally" doing my chores and on here at the same time!
Meant Tommy'smom!
TY !
Oh those beloved security calls! So short and sweet...but sometimes they can be so helpful as they usually come so early on!
Thank you again for helping your Division "moms' out!
mumof4: Haha! My son has been known to snore as well...with no tonsils or adenoids. I'm not sure I should say what field he'll be in since I've read to keep that info off of this site. Not that I don't want to share...just thinking I'd better follow the rules for everyone's sake. I can tell you that after A school, he'll have two more years of school. He'll be active for six years and reserves for two after that.
TommysMom - thanks. I'm sure my son has the cold - he tends to get the stuffy nose and sniffs alot. He's probably driving them all crazy with that AND his snoring! Even with no tonsils, he snores loudly! LOL What is your son going to be since he had to call for security reasons?
mumof4: My son has the cold we've been hearing everyone gets. I could hear it in his voice. So, a good possibility your son does, too. Oh...and he let me know the food was pretty good. Sorry, that's all I could squeeze out of him in those short "all-business" conversations. I still have no idea what he is doing in the performance division or how he got into it. He says that will all have to wait until he gets his personal call time. Oh...one more thing...he said he is with a great group of people in his division. That, I'm sure, includes your son. Keep the faith. Your son is doing just fine.
TommysMom - thank you, thank you, thank you.....my son is in 02/932, and just to hear that they are doing okay (even if it was an all business call from your son) is wonderful!
teresac: My son is Ship02Div932, too. I have not received a letter yet either. However, I have a had a couple of calls from him needing info for his security check. The calls were all business. Very little conversation as he had to stick to the questions at hand. He did tell me though that they are receiving letters, but have not a chance to write yet. They are keeping them very busy. Hope this gives you some understanding of what's going on with your son in the same group.
Julie - This is for your son:
Tyelersmom - I know I already "spoke" with you on BC moms...but once again I am so sorrry this happened. Stress Fractures are the most "common" kind we hear about in BC. I know he is disappointed...so hard...for you too!
I know you are on the RCU group and I also know the ladies over there are great about lending a shoulder and an ear!
Please let us know how he and you are doing while he is recovering...and most of all when he gets released back to a new Division!
Chin up! You are doing great! ((hugs)) to you!
Okay I am going to add just a little to juliebelle's post on Recruit leadership...since I love visual aids!
Here is a chart of the COC at RTC (Chain of Command):
Click to open in another page and zoom.
Here is the link to RTC website that explains all the RPO positions (Recruit Petty Officers):
http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/recruit_petty_officer.asp
Here is a pic of a Collar Device(I belive there are a different number of Chevrons depending on their postition) that the RPO's wear:
On the Chart RCPO(Recruit Chief Petty Officer) = ARPOC, RLPO(Recruit Lead Petty Officer = AROC
But it is too hard to yell... "RRRRCPO or RRRRLPO get your ________ in here"...So ARRRRRRPOOOC and ARRRRROC it is.
These positions are just for the duration of Boot Camp
