Tylersmom, I will be thinking and praying for a speedy recovery for your son. We are one big family now and will help one another get through all the bumps in the road. Please keep us posted on his recovery!! God Bless! :)
tylersmom: So very sorry about this. Did he get stress fractures? Those are very common in bootcamp and take a while to heal, but then they get back to training. I know how disappointing this is....but once he becomes a sailor--no matter how long it takes, he will be "good to go!" So here's praying for speedy healing and that he will be back to training in a new PIR/Div sooner than planned!
rickysmom: You can mention the job he has here. That's fine. I'm assuming you mean the "recruit" job he has been assigned for bootcamp? They won't begin studying for their Navy jobs until A School.
teresa: You won't have to wait 45 days, don't worry. Those letters will be coming soon! Maybe even today? And keep that phone handy for a call. They are totally random so be ready any time!
What a sweet child you have, Julie! Awwwww......
Tylersmom.....keep us informed on your son. Prayers for a speedy recovery! He is getting the best possible care provided by the US Navy, and he will succeed! Keep your chin up.....
Stay strong Tylersmom, I know this seems like a terrible setback right now and 6 more weeks sounds like forever. But he will recover and get this done. A couple years from now this will just be a bump in the road. Please stay in touch and be a part of this site. There is a lot of great information here and we will all help you through this :-)
Good Morning everyone!!!
Me too, my daughter is staying strong and positive, also indicated that the division seems to pulling together. Passed swimming...hopefully a sign of good things coming in the next few weeks. Hope everyone is staying strong and getting back on the healthy track!
I got a letter tonight!! So happy! He said the first few nights he was homesick but all is well now. Making friends and it seems that they are all adjusting. JMT - It does seem like my son sound a bit more grown up as well. My nerves are finally settled. Now I'm just anticipating. Tyelersmom - my prayers will be with your son for a speedy recovery. Please keep us posted on how he's doing.
I am sorry because I really dont want to be a downer for you all... I got a call yesterday and my son got an injury and is set back 6-8 weeks so is no longer going to graduated with his div :( I just wanted to thank all of you for all the support you have given me and I am truly happy for all of you that got your letters :) Im sure my son had started to have a deep bond and friendship with your sons/husbands etc... I think that is what hurts him the most... please keep him in your prayers during his recovery and I will be silently cheering for you when 6/22 comes around for your recruits graduations... again thanks to all of you...
