Hey everyone! So I have read on here a lot about waiting with your sailor at the gate at the airport. From what I understand.. you get there super early (like 1am) and wait by the USO until your sailor shows up and can sign for you to get a gate pass.

I want to make sure I have every last detail so I can go to the gate with my Sailor, does anyone have a big long drawn out explanation of how this works? Thanks!

Does anyone have someone going to Conneticut. That is where my grandson is going.thanks

laverne our son is going to Connecticut too.

I am glad.I was wondering if he was the only one going thee.do you knoa when they are leaving.I didn't get to ask my grandson. It will be nice to meet you.
Diannep - A Chicago Police Officer was kind enough to explain to me that I did not need my Sailor to get a Gate Pass.  With just the Sailor's name and identification, the ticket counter can print out the Gate Pass (you must go to the airline on which your Sailor is flying to do this).

His temporary orders (it could change) says that he will leave at 2am saturday.  I guess that means he leaves the base at 2am.  We will have to verify when we get there.  We will definately be meeting him at the airport so I'm sure that we will have the chance to meet you. our SR is in ship 03/218

Glad to see you made it over here trudy. This group is a hoot on the regular discussion board. They have been my saving grace these last few weeks. Hope you will make it to meet n greet, would love to meet you :)
