N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Lala,

Great going!!  The fact that you are walking farther and farther means your knee is healling.  YIPPEE!!  Beautiful area to walk too~~

Kudos also on the weight loss--that's AWESOME!!

ProudSista77,

Unfortunately, it is not allowed to have people on one's access list that is from another SR's family/friends.  If anyone gets caught, both SRs' family & friends will be expelled from the graduation hall and both of the SRs will be in big trouble also, so please do not violate this policy~~

Call the hotel where you are staying at to ask where they show the Livestream PIR on their premises.  Most should be doing this~~  Your extra family/friends will be able to spend time with your new Sailor when you return from PIR.

Yah Lala!

ProudSista:  Sorry, but that is not allowed anymore.  The SRs are warned they cannot add anyone else's name on their guest list...only those coming for them.  They can be in big trouble.  There are no "passes" given....they go by the names on the lists.  Your extras will need to stay off base and watch the Livestream there.   They can meet up with you and your sailor after PIR!

I have been debating about asking this question but I am going to ask anyway, If any of you is not going to use your 4 passes please, please let me know, Six members of my family are traveling to the PIR and of course only 4 get to see my brother, so it would be awesome if we all get to see him. Hey, does not hurt to ask right? :D

Good morning Navy Family, I just got back from my daily walk. I am walking a little over a mile a day now in the National Forest near where I live. Also, teaching my sailor's dog to heel and she is doing great. This is huge for me since I tore my meniscus tendon in my left knee back in December and I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot. I have been trying to eat and get healthy for 15 months and have lost 64 pounds :) Go Me!!! lol I even have a Healthy Living facebook group where Navy moms on this same journey support each other. If you would like to join us and get healthy here is the link. I hope you all have a fantastic day :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/162370573912854/

My daughter's PICR was in July and it was pretty warm then. We definitely didn't need a jacket but maybe some who are always cold would.

Good Morning!

ProudSista77, it's usually a little cooler in the Chicago area. I grew up not to far from there. Great Lakes is right on the lake, so layering is a good idea. From what I've read on N4M, the drill hall is cold. Hope that helps!
