OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I finally received two letters yesterday, He said he hurt his self and was sent to the hospital, kind of scary situation but he is doing much better. He said his shipmates kept him in good spirits when things got tough. He was pretty excited to start the gun training this week and wanted to gain another medal, so I hope that went well and that he isn't limping any longer. I'm so thankful that his shipmates are supporting him, go DIV 212. Thank-you so much.

Good Morning All !

Cathy Jo:  Pink eye is very common in Bootcamp and thankfully, the drops they give them seem to do the trick!  Hope she feels better soon!

I thought about that but he said there was more than one letter.  At least I got a letter yesterday so I'm happy.

debmil24,

The only thing I can think of is that your SR put too many letter pages in the outgoing envelope and that made it too heavy for maybe the one stamp he put on it?  It has to stay 1 oz or under to go for 1 stamp.  Maybe he needs to ask an RDC how many pages can fit before he needs to add another stamp??

Cathy Jo, I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Pink eye and getting sick there is very common and they usually get better pretty quickly. Since she probably wrote that on Sunday chances are she is already feeling better :)

Sorry to hear about your SR Cathy Jo. I'm praying for a quick recovery for her!

We bought a challenge coin and a shadow box.  We are putting the shadow box in his room and as he collects the coins on his journey he can sent them to us to keep for him. We had his PIR date engraved on the coin.

Got a letter from my SR today!  He said 211 is doing good, getting ready for all the exams and Battle Stations. He told me he had written me 5 letter that were returned to him with "Returned For Post" on them.  He even sent me one of the envelopes.  Postage and address was correct.  Anyone know why they would be returned to him?
