Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

A Ship Challenge Coin is a nice gift, SailorsWife.  You order the one in the name of the Ship he is with in GL.  Here is the website if you are interested:

Good morning! Happy Thursday! I was wondering if anyone had any good gift ideas for the graduates. Lucky for us all the local schools have been graduating so finding a card has been fairly easy. As far as gifts go though this has been quite a difficult feat. I don't want anything too big (size wise) because it would be hard to travel with a large item. Any ideas?

Friends,

This scripture is so appropriate for the Battlestations that your SRs will be going through soon.  Perhaps you can share it with your SR in a letter now.

       "Fear not, for I have redeemed you;

        I have summoned you by name;  you are mine.

        When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

        and when you pass through the rivers,

        they will not sweep over you.

        When you walk through the fire,

        you will not be burned; the flames

        will not set you ablaze.  For I am the Lord,

        your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior..."

                                                      Isaiah 43:1b-3a

Good Day, Friends!

     "The Lord bless you and keep you;

       the Lord make His face shine upon you,

       and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up

       His countenance upon you, and give you peace."

                                                       Numbers 6:24-26

ProudSista77 your welcome, I write mine everyday and he loves it, they are just really really busy. He said they all look forward to their mail, it's their life line to keep them going, send everyday if you can! Also NavyMom77 you are so right about the questionnaires! My SR loved them, plus they were fun he said. I even added more questions to mine too.:) send funny jokes to get them laughing too, it all helps :)

Navy moms, send one of the questionnaires to your SR. I just got one back from my daughter. It made me smile that she actually did it, but it has good information about what's happening and how she's feeling right now. Highly recommended!
