Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

therevbev: I found out that if they are held for several days at RTC (and apparently that is more common for those going to Ft Lee), they are in the THU (Hold division)....and will have curfew at 9 or 10 pm, different from the others who are on RTC.

Cathy Jo: You can pretty much send whatever makeup she likes, but wait for her to ask you for it. It is not a good idea for SRs to receive unexpected packages---so she needs to know you are mailing it---she will have to open it in front of the RDCs but that is ok. If she has already asked you to mail it, no problem. She will just put it away until she is allowed to wear it (for pictures/PIR).

Lauren: They can only mail out one form letter. If it gets lost or was mailed to someone else, that is unfortunate as they can't send out another. However, the password is the important thing. Your SR should be able to give it to you in a letter or call. You won't need it until the end of Bootcamp when you download your gate pass (if driving on base). So you have time.

Lauren...His recruiter may be able to provide you with the information that was on the letter or get another one sent out to you if it was lost in the mail. If you have his recruiters info-I'd try contacting him maybe?
