Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I need to verify the last four digits of the zip code (after the hyphen) for ship 2 div 934. My daughter sent a letter, but the zip code was different.

Was just wondering- are we on week 2 or 3? Was trying to follow what they may be doing on the bootcamp daily schedule but it seems like their farther along than week two (based on my phone call) but so much to do in week three. Son left on a Thursday May 8th, so it's been 2 weeks but we're coming up to the third Friday. Any thoughts?

Ok, sorry for the deleted posts! I was thinking that I was on the PIR 5/23 group! Ooops! That is the problem for us N4Momsveterans being on so many groups at once! We can "forget where we are posting!" :-)
So, to answer your question, ProudSista. Sadly, no, your SRs will not have Liberty on Memorial Day since they are still in training. They will have holiday schedule which gives them some down time and maybe time to write!
As far as July 4th, which will be the holiday after your SR's graduation, that also is a holiday for them. So, again, if your sailor is staying in GL for A School, then, yes, your sailor would have Liberty on that Friday (also Sat and Sunday). All of it is daytime Liberty, they must return to base each night. Hoping that the ones flying out won't fly out on the 4th so that families will also have Liberty with theirs on the 4th as well. No guarantees on that, but fingers crossed that they don't fly out until at least Saturday!
