Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

A PUSH division is where the division had to wait a little longer for more SRs arrive and fill it in, so they have a little less time to train, but they will get their training done in time!!

Since they will have 4th weekend liberty after PIR, does the "50 mile" distance still remain? We live about 90 miles away and were wondering about a quick visit home? I know they have to be back each night, but 1 1/2 hr drive isn't bad.

We just returned from a long weekend in Chicagoland to find THE LETTER!! Yeah! Div. 213 Ship 11. Wow, was not expecting a July 3 graduation. But we did drive over to RTC to snoop around a bit. Really easy to find and get around.
I noticed some requests about a facebook page. I would really like to connect that was if possible. Thanks.

When I was at PIR last year, we had rented a car, which is the most economical way to go and I drove to the Midway Airport to meet my Sailor daughter. The drive was right at 1 hour and pretty easy since I was traveling at 12:30 am! I will put up my Pertinent PIR Tips in the next few weeks which tells you what I did at PIR~~

Since this is a holiday weekend, those of you with Sailors staying in GL for A School should have daytime liberty Thursday-Sunday with your Sailor. They do have to be back on base each night.
