~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Just got a phone call from my son! Made my day- he sounded good, has made some friends. He said the no talking thing is hard and he really wants a Rockstar drink and snickers bar when we come to graduation- haha it's the little things they really miss. Thanks CatsMom509 for the heads up about phone calls today!!!

Hi

My son's on Ship 9 Div 211. Anyone else with someone in that div? Also, my son is heading to Groton CT for A school. Cant wait to share this adventure with moms/wives who are going through the same thing.

Friends,

Here's a friendly "heads up" that calls might be coming in from your SRs this weekend.  Please have your cell phones with you at all times, charged and ready--upstairs, downstairs, on your nightstand, out in the backyard, out with you to get the mail, in the bathroom for any reason....  If going somewhere loud, put it on "vibrate" and slip it into your pocket.  If going somewhere out of range, record an outgoing message that your SR can hear and possibly leave a message for you.

Your phones could show "847", "Pay Phone", "Governement".  Pick up all unfamiliar calls!  If it's a sales call, please just politely tell them "No, thank you."

My husband is Ship 11 Div 214. Anyone else? I already made reservations at the Navy Lodge. I figured they would start filling up fast because of the holiday and graduation. Can't believe we're already one week closer! :)

ProudSista77, Forgot to say you can also go to the airport and wait at the gate with your SAILOR until the flight leaves, although not everyone may be able to go to the gate.
