Any other mom's out there with SR's in this group?  Did ya'll get the "call" or was it just my son afraid to call after 10:00 pm? Geez he should have known that no calls after 10 rule was for his friends!  I don't think I was ever so happy to get a bunch of dirty clothes in the mail when the box came though and when the form letter came it was a comfort!  At least I know he's not running around Chicago naked!  Well everybody try to keep your chins up and nose blown...it won't be tooo long until PIR!  GO NAVY

Our SR is also in this group. He left on may 9. We did get our "call" and have received the box and letter. Made us feel better that things were moving along like his recruiter said it would. We haven't gotten any mail or anything and according to what I've read I'm not really expecting it for a couple of weeks...however a surprise would be so welcome! We get more excited as each day passes putting us closer to PIR....counting them down!
My fiancé is in this division. We got his form letter on Monday and are looking forward to getting a handwritten letter soon.

My husband is also in this ship/div! he got transferred to it recently because he got held back for 2 weeks :/ but he says he likes this division much better :)

I'm so glad to hear he's in a better division for him! Thanks for posting the info about letter writing...I knew it would be awhile so now I'll start watching the mail this week.

Our son is also in this group. Was very happy for the form letter and the box of dirty clothes. A phone call would make my day. He is our oldest and it sure is strange not having him around. His brother and sister same it almost daily and I think it all the time. Hope everyone is holding up well. Looking forward to getting to know more family members.

Hey Jeannade, my son is on Ship 03 Div 208.  It's now the 23rd and i haven't heard anything yet.  Don't want to for at least a week.  I hear it takes 3 weeks and if you get a call to early it might not be a good one...lol  Anyway, my Justin is in your sons Div.  Did you make reservations yet?  I see there is a site where you can have T-shirts made up with their div numbers on them.  I wonder how its going for them.  Let me know when you hear from him.  Oh yeah, in one of the discussions, there is a list of questions you can send your son.  Its pretty cool.  All they have to do is check there answer.  I sent that to him and can't wait to see it. (if he fills it out).

Do you have the link to the site that makes the DAiV tshirts?
Thanks!

Chris

I will make sure to let everyone know when/ IF I hear from him... Even though he is going to ship to A School for MC he has NEVER kept me in the loop ( the joys of motherhood ).  Valerie will probably hear from her husband before us mere Mom's hear anything..But I will let everybody know when I hear from him..

I found the site with the Recruit questionnaire.. I adapted it for us ( I'm was a single mom until last year and Andrew my SR had graduated High School ) and will be sending it Friday.

Also could you share that link to have those T-shirts made?  I plan on being one PROUD NAVY MOM!

Oh and I haven't made reservations yet, I have been planning to do that all week, but just haven't slowed down yet..But before this weekend is out I will have our rooms...

And one final thought...Just 44 days left!

Hi everyone

I haven't heard anything from my husband since last Thursday. According to him everything was fine over there. I should be receiving his letters by tomorrow or friday the latest but i will surely keep everyone updated and stay alert because mail should be on its way for everyone in this ship/div! :)

Received our first letter from our SR. It just made my day. :) He wrote a letter to each of us which was nice.

43 days left..

I can't wait...I think this is the longest my son and I have been apart in 20 years...I can't believe I'm saying this and if anyone ever tells Andrew I will DENY it to the end, but I even miss the dirty dishes, clothes, electronics everywhere and even yes, the missing food.  I mean, GEEZ, I went to get into a bag of chip last night that I had bought last weekend and got weepy because there were chips LEFT..My husband thinks I have completely lost it, and I think I agree..C'mon over chips...

Oh well and since missing him isn't gonna get easier I better just toughen up and keep busy.. I hope everybody else is doing better that crying over a week old, full bag of chips (Jalapeno Monterrey sun chips never lasted 1 day in the house before he left for RTC).  I

Oh and thanks everybody for letting me vent..I know I talk/type too much, but this outlet is really helpful because I know all of you are pretty much in the same boat..We miss our fellas!  Just know that I am keeping all of you and yours in my prayers.

Also, am I right in thinking that they should be finishing week 2 and all the inspections, etc and next week will be week 3 where they will prepare for MarlinSpike?

I got a letter I can't believe it!  It was so good to see his cramped, tiny print, I almost had to pull out the old magnifying glass.  2 pages I am truly stunned, it lets me know he is really missing home..I think I need to start another letter NOW!  Hopefully everyone else got theirs today!  Keep an eye out.
