My fiance left for boot camp May 7th and his recruiter gave me his address and told me he was in ship2 div 934. I am currently waiting for his form letter to come in the mail anyday now to confirm.

My daughter is in the same division.  Was your fiance in marching band?  According to my daughter's recruiter the 900 divisions are those with musical or marching experience who perform for other PIR ceremonies.  He said she will either be part of what they call triple threat (Drill Demonstration, Singing or Band), the State Flags or Staff.

Tasha played the Sousaphone at Miami University of Ohio.  She's tiny so if they have her marching around with that on top of the regular PT she'll be pretty fit and pretty tired after boot camp.

Thats the crazy thing, my fiance hasn't done any of those things! He did choir I think in middle school and thats about it! So I have no clue. Have you gotten the form letter in the mail yet?

So knowing this Triple threat deal he probably is one of the flag holders or staff. Because I know for sure he has never played an instrument. He doesn't sing often although he isn't a terrible singer. It's really nice to know someone else with a recruit in this division though:)

He may march really well or be the right height for flags, or have just been assigned because that's where they had room. I understand it is a pretty rough cut for which division they are assigned to.  I haven't gotten the "letter" yet so I'm going on what the recruiter told me.  But it would totally be like my daughter to volunteer.  I think she was born with her hand raised.  I warned her about that in the military but she's a "joiner."

If I hear anything I'll post it here.

Ok great! I have been expecting the form letter this week and nothing yet. Maybe it will come tomorrow or the next day?

I got the letter yesterday. My son is in Ship 2 div 934. He was in JROTC in High School, so that maybe why.

He does not sing or play an instrument. He does have a job though, so that may be why he is in this group.

Hello everybody. A recruit can volunteer to be in the 900 divisions if they want color guard or drill or even choir. Oh yes my daughter is also in the same divison.

My daughter  is in this division I got the form letter today.

I just googled 934 division and I was wrong. The recruits are hand picked for this divison. It seems to be a honor for this division. Yes its based if they had jrro tc, marching band, choir, Played a instrutment. My daughter did rotc, sang in a choir. Also I think it said if they had high asvab scores. One of the best thing is that they get to perform in PIR or parades. We may get to see our SR's pictures on these sites.  I'm excited!

Got my sons form letter today he is in ship 02 Div 934. He plays no musical instrument or never joined band. all he did was sports in middle school and high school. football wrestling basketball and lacrosse
