Yes, 12/232. Not sure why he used the other one. But we'll keep sending them to the correct one. Thanks!

Ship 12 division 232? The address would be

Ship 12
3515 Sailor Drive
Great Lakes, IL
60088-3515

I don't think I got an answer to this question.  If I did, sorry for asking again. The address we got on our form letter for our son was 3515 Sailor Drive but in the return address on the letter we got from him, he wrote 3600 Ohio Street (I think). The ship and division were the same. Which one should we be using and is he getting our letters since we've been sending them to Sailor Drive?

SomebodysMom, The orange vest is is a safety vest and is generally worn when the recruit has "traffic duty," They do cross roads on base when marching, and he would be the one to halt traffic.

Hotels suggested by others on this site:

Navy Lodge (book in SR's name if you do not have military ID yourself)

Springhill Suites, Courtyard, Residence Inn, Holiday Inn Express....someone also just gave a good review on Candlewood Suites---all in Waukegan/Gurnee area.  All of these hotels listed here are close together, near Sarge's MeetandGreet (held the night before PIR for the Navy families), about 4-5 miles from RTC.  Nice area, big Walmart and restaurants nearby.  Don't wait to book hotels...they have pretty lenient cancellation policies, but book up fast in the summer due to a Six Flags being nearby. Call these hotels directly and ask for the Navy Graduation discount.  Also, checkout the hotel you are interested in on www.TripAdvisor.com     Most reviews on there will be from Navy families.

Good Morning!

I finally found my son it the FB photos posted a few days ago. He was wearing an orange vest over his uniform. What does that mean? does he have a special duty? Is it just for that day or the whole boot camp?
