Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

SvelikShop,

It will be no problem for your SR to pass his run!!  Ten seconds is really nothing.  Others have to shave off a couple of minutes or more, so don't be heartbroken--he's got this!!

Svetik:  He also will get to try again next Wed if he doesn't pass on Monday.  Normally he would also get to try tomorrow, but apparently they are not doing that this week with the July 4th holiday today.

Hello moms I just wanted to share my good news. God is good my SR called and she passed all her final test and PFA's I was so worried. I want to thank catmom509 and SandyW for all their kind words. I will continue to pray for those SR's that were short on their runs, swims and pray they will All pass battle stations

Thanks catmom509!  I went with a slightly different one (all black and gray) so I hope he likes it!  And I have already received the challenge coin from pirgifts for his ship!! It's perfect!  :)

Just got a call from our son. All the tests he passed excellent but  to pass the test on the run wasn't enough 10 sec. On Monday morning try again. My heart is broken I cry. But I believe I hope and pray for our son.

If he'll pass on Monday he'll be allowed to do BattleStations and at Tuesday morning will be last call. I'm praying and sending my prayers to my son.
