~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good Morning All !
Roni: You can call the Public Affairs Office about that, but doubt he can get press credentials. 847 688 2405 I think having ID and being part of your sailor's guest list would be the only way he could get in...just not sure he will have the time to get the pictures he wants on the base and of course, he is restricted in both time to get them and areas he can photograph in. Probably would be best to use him off-base.
Roni: I totally agree with ellen! No photographer on the base...unless....that person is one of the 4 allowed guests on the list...and....the photographer understands that only piks allowed are inside the buildings. Remember, they will scoot you out of the PIR Hall just about 10 minutes (or less) after PIR concludes. So not too much time for lots of piks then....
Lala: That's so wonderful. So glad your daughter and grand baby are doing well.
Thoughts and prayers really do work. The contractions have stopped and they released my Sailor from the hospital :) Thanks so much for the continued thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate it and My daughter/sailor said to thank all of you as well :)
Now I can get back to my vacation and preparing for our Florida meet and greet meet and Greet!
If you live in the areas of Florida on the pic below please join us for a Meet and Greet on Sunday afternoon. The Meet and Greet will be held in Gulf Harbors in New Port Richey FL. Roni, Yes, everyone has to be on the list. At the gate they check for parking passes if driving and inside they check IDs to the list. If the person is not on the list they are told they need to leave base.
As for the photographer, photographs are not allowed outside the drill at all, ever. You cannot take pictures around the base, and if you do they might, can and will take your camera, delete all the photos or take the film (if not digital).
Though security may not appear to be strict it is!
Hello everyone, I have a question, Does a name have to be on the list in order to go through the gates and on base or just to go inside the building (the drill hall)?
I'm just wondering how strict security is there. I'd like to have a photographer come and take pictures of me and my SR outside around the base after the ceremony but I need to know if he will even be allowed.
Hello Friends!
