Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

 Andrewsmom.

I so sympathize  with you. My son was 10 seconds short on his run also. He passed and your son will be too. All of my prayers for your son.

Congratulations to all the new Sailors in our group. Prayers for those yet to make the call. God is Good and He has a plan for each one of them. We are GL bound tomorrow afternoon. Stopping half way overnight. Thursday we will be at Sarge's Meet and greet! Cant wait to meet everyone.

I am prayer for favor that he passes and will be marching with his division on Friday. I have yet to hear from my son. I fly out tomorrow at 5pm. I love the post about changing the message to let them know who to call. I am even going to leave my moms number on my message since my son doesn't know it by heart. He can call her if he does not get me. I look forward to meeting you guys on Friday. I am going to Ramada's meet and greet

AndrewsMom:  Prayers for him!

Just remember, if he doesn't pass tomorrow (and 9 seconds is very doable so we aren't thinking that way!), he will stay in FIT and keep trying three times a week until he does.  At that time, he would then do BattleStations, and head straight to A School, no PIR.

But lets pray that tomorrow is his day and he has wings on his feet!  Praying that you will all be watching him at PIR on Friday!

Please pray for my son he just called to say he was 9 seconds short on his run and if he doesn't pass tomorrow he will not graduate. I am so heartbroken for him.

diannep Thanks for the idea!

Congratulations to all of those who received 'the call" today! I am anxious to hear those words, "I'm a Sailor" ...hopefully tomorrow! Starting to get things packed up for the road trip. I live in Michigan, just about 3 hrs from Chicago. For those who have never been, Chicago is a beautiful city. Some of my recommendations include the museum of science and industry, here is a linkhttp://www.msichicago.org/  Another great place is the Navy Pier (my cousin is the event planner there so I have to plug that. :o/). The Magnificent Mile downtown offers legendary shopping and Lake Shore Park is another great place. The aquarium, Willis Tower (formerly Sears tower) and Wrigley field are also popular!
