For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Badge
I can't rent a car! Any advice??
I've looked into renting cars and I cannot because 1. I don't have a credit card in my name and 2. am not 25... I looked up how far the airport is to my hotel and its about 45 mins. Thats going to cost more then renting a car almost isn't it? This is just frustrating that I am married and have a son, but cannot rent a car to visit my husband in boot camp :(

Are you a walker?? Its suppose to be hot on fri and there's a hill to deal with. Maybe there will be someone else at the lodge you can catch a ride. What day you getting there? if you get there thurs take a dry run and see if it works for you.

Okay I will call him, I was asking around about walking and I hear a lot of people do it. And when I looked it up on google maps it said it was an 11 min walk, but 2 miles... I don't know about doing that haha

Yeah...that's a lot! Plus, with your son and then afterwards with your Sailor!
Also for you: (This is from the RTC website FAQ) Though I don't know what you are supposed to do with a stroller! I am guessing with all the new cars that most "taxi's (lots are vans now) have built in car seats. It also doesn't say you can't bring a stroller...just discouraged...but if it was me...I'd be bringing it! There has to be a parking place for them! I didn't look. It's just kinda long to hold a baby or little one! Gotta have some relief for both mom and child!
Boy, if I had PIR to do over again...knowing that I would be staying on here! I would have used that 1 1/2 hours before it started very differently! LOTS of note taking! LOL
Q.What items can we bring or not bring to PIR?A.Small purses, small diaper bags and cameras/video recorders are allowed. Strollers, car seats and backpacks are allowed, but discouraged due to space limitations. Due to security regulations, luggage is not permitted inside the drill hall. You can leave these items in your car. The taking of photographs/video is allowed at the Visitor Center and encouraged during the entire ceremony; however NO photography/video is permitted outside of these buildings. Contraband also will be confiscated and you may not be permitted entry. These items include but are not limited to: alcohol, illegal drugs, knives or weapons of any kind.
All persons, articles and vehicles are subject to security searches. Metal detectors and other security devises are in use onboard Recruit Training Command. Expect a delay at the security checkpoints due to this added security requirement.
