My SR told me they are being aloud to write twice a week.  Hoorah!!!  But the mail seems to constipated coming to them. I wrote to him everyday last week and he said he had only gotten mail once last week :(

But he'll have those letters at least in a few days! I've heard it takes anywhere from 5-10 days for our mail to get to them, because of all the sorting it goes through after USPS delivers it to the base. I write to my husband every night and then send it in the next day's mail and he still doesn't get a letter from me every single day....which I was hoping for in the beginning, that he'd get a letter every single day.

But he didn't mention that they get to keep writing twice a week!! Yay! Mail day is the best! Well, second to the random phone call days =] of course

yes i know about the 5-10 days...warning us not use Fedex :)  When I am answering his letters I just want it to be there the next day...it is so hard when we have been become use to IM, texting etc...(I sound like I am from my son's generation :) ) to have the immediate response....It amazes me though how quickly their mail comes to us!!!  Guess when you are part of the government it works faster...yuk yuk!!!  Reading all of the notes about PIR makes me want this time to go faster...I am so excited...anyone else staying at the Marriott Courtyard????

Just got a letter and the first half of hell week (wake up at 3:30 and go to bed at 10) He compared it to midterms.  They did great...My SR said they had a 4.86 out of 5 for the first half of the week.   If they keep the score up they will be in the hall of fame.  Have their pictures and a roster that will be there forever...my SR said"I want that I want to show my kids some day"  He was sick one day and was placed in a different compartment, (division) he said he thought it was a week one group and found out it was a group a head of theirs.  He said they were soft and has a whole new respect for their RDC!!! Personal and weapons training he scored a 5/5  His whole spirit has changed...he definitely says it is due to the support from people writing...and his fellow SR's he said they have each other's backs.   So ladies it looks like things are good in Division 219!!!  Just had to give you guys an update:)

Thank you so much for that uplifting note - that is sooo awesome that they are taking bc so seriously and really getting into the competition and the whole team spirit! They are all going to make fine young sailors soon.  We should all be very proud of Div. 219!

Oh thank  you for sharing!! This post put a huge smile on my face... Look at our smart boys...ehm, men :)

My husband wrote that his division got the following scores during Hell Week:

4.86 (out of 5) for WTI....weapons turnover inspection is my best guess at the acronym
4.76 for PI.... I think this one is physical training related..?
4.92 on Zone inspections....which is how they all keep their personal things organized and beds made

and as far as I know they are still on their way to being a Hall of Fame division =]

Thank you so much for the update Karianne.  That put an even BIGGER smile on my face!  Those seem like awesome scores - I feel so proud right now.  Maybe we can all meet up at a meet and greet the evening before graduation and celebrate Ship 12, Div. 219.  Very Poud Mom...:)

I decided to jump in even though my SR is Ship 3 DIV 217 - "PI" is for personal inspections as opposed to zone inspections, I think.  So your guys do great as individuals and as a team! Congratulations!

Anyone aware of their Battle Station date??

Hi Karianne, I am not aware of my son's date.  All I know is that it happens this week sometime.  I am hoping he is all recovered from getting all 4 wisdom teeth pulled last week - so that he does a good job....

If your son is Div 220, that would be separate from Div 219. But his and our divisions are considered "brother" divisions. I think they do a lot of their training together. And they will go through Battle Stations together as well. There is a discussion group about 220 if you'd like to check it out.
