I can't believe how fast the day went yesterday. Graduation was just beautiful and alot nicer than mine 32 years ago. I have to laugh at all the new Sailors greeting me with "Hello Petty Officer" I know I stopped and talked to many of them and welcomed them aboard. We took Jonathan to the Silo to have the pizza he had dreamed about. This is the place I went to while going to Corps School with my friends. We had a lady stop by the table who talked to Jonathan and told him congratulations and wished him well in his Navy career. She handed him a gift card to use for his meal. When he looked at it after she walked away he started to cry. She had given him $100.00!!!!! OMG.... needless to say that was like the icing and cherry on the cake. We had a truely wonderful and blessed day. Now he and his friends are in San Antonio and in the barracks waiting for the start of their A school.

PIR was great, even though it was coming a monster thunderstorm outside most of the time.  Had a great day with my new Sailor.  Met his RDCs, who were very warm and gracious.  It was a wonderful day!  He flies out very early in the morning so today was all we had. And I saw lots of ribbons like mine at graduation, too!

I was like that too Memrie, I wanted to just go up to the gate and tell them to send my daughter out to speak to me. I drove around and past the gate so many times just hoping to see some Sailors marching that I was afraid they were going to send someone out to run me off lol.

Have a great time everyone. It was exactly one year ago that I was right there where you are now :-) Enjoy your time with your Sailors and be safe.
