We are here in Gurnee...arrived in Chicago just after 8 AM, got our rental car and drove up.  Resting in the hotel room now after some Giordano's Pizza for lunch.  Looking forward to the M&G tonight...but first want to drive by and take a look at the base.  Can hardly believe my oldest is just a 10 minute drive away and I can't get to him!!!!

Ladies, good luck to all your sailors tomorrow.  Enjoy your M&G tonight.  I know you will all have a blast.  For those of you who have sailors going to Pensacola, FL, if you haven't already joined, here is the link for that group.   http://www.navyformoms.com/group/sailorsinpensicolaflforaschool

There is a lot of great information on that page.  My son is currently at Corry Station and if any of you have questions about the area, please ask.  I have been down to Pensacola twice since my son has been in A school, so I do know a little bit about the area.  As I'm sure you know, your sailors will go through a Phasing up stage to earn privileges such as wearing civilian clothes and leaving base.  In Pensacola there are normally 3 weeks between each Phase.  Therefore if you are planning a trip to see them while at their A school, remember to take that in account.  My son was Phase III when I visited him and both times, he was also able to spend the weekend with us in our hotel.  Enjoy tomorrow and the time you have this weekend and if anyone has questions please ask away.

We're here in Great Lakes.  Can hardly wait for tomorrow morning.  We flew into Midway at about 0830.  We deplaned and a couple gates away were some sailors (maybe a division).  Didn't see my kid.  They were lined up in two lanes and some Sailor musicians at a small table.  I looked for our guys but didn't see any of them.  Went to the baggage claim and realized why they were there.  In the baggage claim area were families waiting with flowers, waving flags, and looking so excited.  I learned from the signs some held that they were waiting for the return of their sailors from a deployment.  I teared up standing there waiting for our bags.  We then went to get our rental car....wish it had taken a little longer....as we got to the elevator to go to the 2nd floor (where you pick up car) I heard the crowd roar...I lost it and the tears started!   I think I scared the guy at the second floor rental car delivery!  Can you imagine...thamt will be us some day.

May we all have a wonderful day tomorrow....and may all our Sailors always return safely to us!!!  God bless all you here, God bless all our troops, and God bless America!

NOW OFF TO EXPLORE GREAT LAKES

it has to be zipper baggy?
Comment by Lvemyabej on July 21, 2011 at 12:45am

The airlines post that it should be a zipper baggy

Also my grandmother in law told me for like liqiuds to take off the lids and cut pieces from a regular baggy then put that on top of where the liquid comes out of then screw the lid on .

she said to to that because some times on airplanes they explode
