Hello, I added our group to the calendar for Meet n Greet on Thu, July 21, 2011.  My son's fiance said that he is doing great!  He is a little sick with a cough though.  He was able to make a call today for doing an assignment, he has received letters and keep them coming with more pictures!!!  The food is very good.  He did say that the 936 Div had higher standards.  Instead of marching, he will be doing something with rifles...sorry it is not specific.  He misses everyone, but seems to be doing great...did not seem depressed at all!  I would have loved to hear his voice, at least he did call his fiance that is missing him like crazy, too.  Again, send lots of letters and pictures.

got our first phone call from our SR.  Said the food is great.  Passed his swim test. Working on improving his running.  They were up all night doing a writting assignment but it was worth it because they got to make their phone calls.  Sounds tired but great.  I was confused because I had read that 900 divisions were for the band and chior, etc.  He told me it is that but that the Nine Three Six is a staff divisions.  They will get their jobs next week but they basically work the PIR's, sounded excited about it!  They are a all male division.  Said that having only five divisions (usually up to fourteen) at Our PIR should make it faster and maybe we will have more time with them.  I got the best birthday present a day early....it was so great talking to him.  He said he also wrote earlier today so I'll get my first letter soon!  I hope you all get your long awaited for calls today, that your SR's sound as good as mine did, and a letter soon too.  It really made a difference just hearing his voice!

One of you ladies in this group needs to add the MeetNGreet to the calendar to the right of this page.  Here's how you do it:

Click on July 21st on the calendar. Click on "Add Event."  Then here is the info to add:

***********

MeetNGreet for PIR 7/22/2011

Thurs, 7/21/2011, from 6-8 pm

Ramada Waukegan

200 N. Green Bay Rd

847-244-2400

***********

This is just for info purposes.  Ramada has it regardless.  But it needs to be on there for this group to find.  Thank you to whomever will do this!

I second what fireteamleaderwife said about your division groups!  You will get to know each other there.

HOWEVER, please stay on this board for info and to ask questions.  We veteran ladies don't have time to comb through all of the discussion groups to answer questions....many times, I see questions in the discussion groups that have been answered on the main board.  So try and stay in touch on this board too!

DukesMom:  The MeetNGreet is put on by the Ramada Waukegan the night before PIR (7/21) from 6-8 pm .  It is for all families/friends of sailors in PIR 7/22...not just for NavyforMoms people.  So you will get to share about this website with those people who may have never heard of us here!  Can you imagine????  HA!  They serve appetizers and there is a cash bar....you can bring your own drink if you wish, and if you are staying there, you will get two free drink tickets.  Children are welcome!
