No need to respond to this.  Just wanted to get the divisions listed at the top of the page and haven't seen Donna on the group for a while.  Only she can post them to the name of the group....so…Continue

Carol....just checking to see if you got a letter today?  I still didn't and was really surprised.  I am about 850 miles away, but still...if it was mailed on Monday, I should have gotten it by now. …Continue

terrysproudmom:  My son wasn't a "writer" either...until bootcamp!  He actually wrote 4-5 letters and pretty long ones too. HUGE for him.  So no matter what they were in the past, you may see changes!  Hoping that "writing" for him is one of those changes!

And, ladies, as Lala said...these are normal emotions for right now in bootcamp.  Yep, on every PIR group, same thing.  Once you get that first phone call or letter, it makes a difference and things start looking better.  Remember the Navy's motto:  HURRY UP AND WAIT....

The waiting part is SO SO true right now....praying for letters this week for you all!

If you are feeling down while waiting for that first letter home as I am...you might enjoy this link of N4Mgo to this link.  It is the TOP TEN LINES HOME FROM BOOT CAMP.  Sure to make you smile.  Hoping for some of those lines soon!

Oh I hope they did get to write this past weekend.  My son is not much of a phone talker or letter writer.  I am praying he misses us as much as we miss him and he will want to write and call as often as he can.

In the little note my son wrote me on the form letter that came, he said they'd be able to write their first real letter this past Sunday afternoon.  So if it was mailed out Monday, we should begin receiving mail tomorrow  and Thursday.  I can't WAIT to hear more about how he's doing!!!!!

Sherblond- I was the same way when my daughter was at bootcamp. I missed not only her but her friends that were always here as well. Her best friend really missed her a lot too and she started coming over once a week and watched Army Wives with me, we used to all watch it together :-) Now a year later she still comes over every Sunday night to watch it and we skype with "our" sailor :-)

Sherblond your son has wonderful friends!  That was so good of them!  I have read on the N4M's site somewhere that RTC doesn't allow the recruits time to write for 2-3 weeks.  I ran to the mailbox today too, knowing there would probably not be what I most wanted to see there....a letter from GL's...and there wasn't.  I did better last week than I am this week.  Last week brought the "box" and form letter...at least something.  I finally washed the clothes from the box yesterday....could smell my son's cologne on the shirt so I didn't want to wash them but finally did it.  I don't know when life will return to normal.  And this is only bootcamp!

Sherblond thank you so much for the hotel info.  You all might get a laugh out of this.  Haven't made our flight or hotel arrangements but our dog got her reservations today at our vet's for boarding while we are gone.  This was a big deal as we have never left her alone.  I had a dog die in 1989 while we were on vacation and another die in 1996, again while we were on vacation.  So relieved that our vet will do this for us! One less worry! :-)

Found another Depper to start running with. We start tomorrow early because it is already hot here in Texas. Looks like it is hot at bootcamp right now too. Still stalking the poor mailman. : )

Came home from work...checked the mail --- nothing still from my boy, feeling sad and grumpy. Then as I was sitting here smoking my crack, aka reading on the Navy4Moms site lol..., my son's 2 best friends came over just to say HI. What a nice and needed surprise. They ended up going out to dinner with my husband and me when he got home. I really needed that. My son has been gone 2 weeks today and I am really started to get down with the "no communication" thing. The "boy time" was awesome. When my son left, I feel like not only he left my home, but all of his friends that were over daily also. Made me feel closer to my son.
