My son will be a Construction Mechanic (CM). He wanted other positions in the Seabees but his DEP date was coming near so he accepted the CM job. Even though he wanted a different job he seemed happy about his decission. Any one else in PIR 7/22/11 who has a son/daughter/spouse going to A school at Port Hueneme?
His A school is going to be in Port Hueneme, California...I got lucky there...he'll only be one county away.
Hi my name is Terry and I am new to this. I live in California. My son's PIR date is 7/22/11 he is on Ship 02 Div 396. I dropped him off at his recruiter's office on 5/24, his 24th birthday. He left MEPS for RTC on May 25th. Have received his "box" and the form letter. I am afraid to start making flight and hotel reservations until I know if he is a Grad-n-go. Does anyone know if all the sailors get the whole weekend (although I know they have to be back to RTC by 2100) to spend with their families? It seemed the "form letter" said grad and go's don't get the weekend leave. Is leave for three days, Fri, Sat, Sunday? I am retired buy my husband has to get leave from work. Any info from past PIR moms of both general grads and grad n go's that knows how the weekend plays out would help me greatly. Thanks in advance
