My husband talked to my SR's recruiter today and he told him there is a good chance that my son will get liberty all weekend long with us, even over night. I am sooo hopeful!! He is staying at Great Lakes for A school.

Yuck, sounds almost like punishment.  Maybe he'll get lots of Ricky Heaven time.  Good thing I didn't book our flight home until 7:30pm so we'll have some time on Sunday with him.  I just felt bad reading his letter and knowing he was so sad five days ago.  I know his orders could change, maybe even several times but I don't know if he understands that.  I wondered when I asked if any one else was going to A school and no one replied if he was the only one.  Maybe he has to wait because there are a group of them going out from the following PIR.  I think I'll go to their group and ask.

Mine was GradNGo...so gone Sat.morning.

The good news is that you have the whole weekend with him!  Probably couldn't see him past Sunday though.  I know one lady whose son was held until Wed before flying out and she booked out Wed also.  He couldn't see her on Mon and Tues and wasn't even allowed to call her.  She said he spent time cleaning for the next divisions to come into RTC, so maybe they do that?

Not sure, Terrysproudmom. Haven't ever been asked that before???

In my letter today my SR said that he got his orders and won't leave RTC for A school until 30JUL.  RDC's most everyone will go by Monday so he is sad.  Even drew a really sad face.  What do they do with the guys that are delayed in leaving after PIR?

Comment by diannep on July 18, 2011 at 9:35pm

Terrysproudmom:  They usually only know about their own division unless they are calling at the same time as another division and they ask them if all in that division passed.

Thanks for the new info!  I have adjusted the schedule in the discussion group!  You will have a complete set of UNITED STATES NAVY SAILORS from PIR 7/22 this time tomorrow!  HOOYAH!

You need to remember the RDC's have worked hard training these kids. They want them to pass. As long as they are trying and working hard they will do fine.

Incognito...in my state, you can renew online, but only every other time.  I did it 4 years ago, which means I *have*to do it in person this time.  I just don't have time to go back to town tomorrow and try.  So it will have to be a passport for me.

My blue candle is lit.  Hooyah 234, 233 and 936!  You guys are gonna pass Battle Stations with flying colors!
