Okay this is a SPOILER alert.

For those who just have to have some idea of what PIR looks like and the inside of the graduation hall. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQNZl997d2Y&feature=related  Here is the best link I have found. It takes you pretty much through the entire thing.  But you can speed up the video to get the the END where they *announce "LIBERTY CALL" so you can see what happens.

I cant get through the first minute of this video without crying like a baby and I dont even know a single sailor at this PIR.

Thats the name I kept forgetting, "Ricky Heaven"  I was sad that our PIR group was so large that my sailors div had to go last for BS and never got to go there. Honestly with only 5 div PIRing, this week, seating just shouldn't be a problem for anyone.  And finding them on the floor for a quick hug and pic should be relatively easy.  I think our PIR group had like 11 divisions; we had over 1000 graduating.

I am back.. lol   Just thought of this.......(yes now I am craving one and cant get them fresh here in Texas)  for those who are familiar with and like White Castles, there is one near the Ramada Inn.  We just asked the GPS for a nearby location and got one. We took about 20 of them back to the room after the M&G and stuffed our faces.

Also as far as the birth certificate for children...  you CAN use a photo copy. I had this confirmed through Navy Affairs when thats all I had here at home.  They dont have to have the *original.  The guard nor the people at the table even asked to see it BUT we had it just in case.

Sleeping after BattleStations doesn't come until 8 pm that night...they are "fueled" until then by energy drinks, candy bars, etc!  I have heard that some are able to take a short "cat nap" on the floor of their barracks....but haven't had this confirmed. :-)

Cell phones in the bra on I'm a Sailor call day so you don't miss it! It usually is a longer one...I had an hour with my son.  Terrysproudmom is correct...although the calls can come in anytime that day, they usually start around 2 pm GL (Central) time...and can go for a good while.

Oh, they also get some visits to Ricky Heaven for food, computer time, etc.  They may even be able to get a call into you!  Mine was able to do that.  Had BattleStations on Thurs night/Fri morning a week before PIR.  I'm a Sailor call on Friday.  But he got to call me again on Tues night during their "pizza party."

Those who have completed BattleStations have a little more "down" time...and of course the pressure is off big time...but they still have their regular responsibilities and duties.  They also have PIR practice.  They don't allow your new sailors to get lazy!

to add on to Terrysproudmom's reminder about ID:  Remember...

12 and under:  Need birth certificate and/or social security card

12 and older:  Need valid gov-issued photo ID

Those 12 and under do NOT count as part of your SR's 4 guests...so you can have more guaranteed to get in if you have any 12 and under.  Those bringing extras to PIR who have their max guaranteed "4" guests....don't worry....although the extras possibly will have to wait to enter PIR Hall, they most likely will get in.  Worth going and taking the chance, for sure!

We should ask the moms that already have Sailors if they mentioned what they would do this final week after Battle Stations.  I am sure though that the 936ers will be practicing for their own PIR too
