KATHLEEN10: Was it you that was asking about watches.  See Navymommo's post here.  They are allowed to take them back to base.

Thanks again Navymommo.  One of the mom's here had asked about watches so that is going to be a big help for her to know for sure that they can go back to base with that.

Our sailor had good info on directions for where to meet him at O"Hare.  So I would wait and "do what you are told"  I can tell you that the USO is located right above the DELTA ticket counter in terminal 2.  They were helpful- the uso was FULL! so they gave our sailor a voucher to take to the ticket counter to get gate passes for us to go through security- then we could go eat, sit at an empty gate and rest and relax.  The whole purpose of going to the airport is to deliver the black backpack with their laptop and cellphone. My husband dropped me off and went to park the car.  He parked in the regular garage right at terminal two  ($17.00 for 7 hours).  Our GPS has an"Avoid traffic" option.  and between that and St. Christopher, we made it back to Great Lakes in about 75 minutes.- much faster than I thought.  However, the sailor's anxiety about getting back on time makes it pretty easy to leave and get back to the GL area early and have some time at your hotel, restaurant or shop.  Remember that they can't take anything back on base with them.- except a watch which they can wear.

yea i think it would be smarter to do that because I just called and they said if you are late for the reservation time that they are going to give the car to someone else. That is ridicuous. It is 1130 where I am and still no mail man
