My son took a very nice watch (big face shows regular time and militarytime and glows in the dark) with him to RTC.  It did not come home in the box so I think they are allowed to have them.  Seems like some have them in some of the random pictures.  So if they are okay at boot camp probably A school too. Don't know if the navy gives them anything like that.  Maybe one of the veteran moms know or can ask their Sailors.  My son already told us we wants the Navy ring from the NEX.  He never wears rings but would like to have one anyway....so we're getting him the ring.

Good morning Ladies,

I have read different things on here about grad gifts. I would like to give my son a watch, do you know if he is issued one already or if he could keep the one I give him and wear it at A school?

Only 17 more wakeup calls and we'll be at PIR.  I got the idea that they really worked hard and my SR wants all those flags badly. Said firearms wasn't as easy as it looks.  They are all counting the days too but says sometimes that makes it worse so he tries not to think about it.

I, too, was very happy to get a short letter today, written a week ago.  Continues to sound positive and proud of everything he is learning and accomplishing.  Can we really be just over 2 wks away from their graduation?  I can hardly wait not only to see my son, but to experience the PIR ceremony that they have all been working so hard for!  HOOYAH 11/234!

We always like to post on here...about how much we appreciate all that the RDCs do for the SRs....their job is not an easy one and they do it well!  So a big HOOYAH for the RDCs of PIR 7/22 !

And, no, I don't have an SR in bootcamp so I'm not brown nosing!  :-)

Short letter from my SR today...he said "My RDC's said they love the Navy Mom's website, so don't say anything that would get me in trouble."  LOL...this made me chuckle.
