OMG!!!! I just saw the Facebook post with my sons DIV 229 picture. Definitely tears of joy.
Yea, three weeks until we board a plane in Atlanta and head to Chicago for PIR!!!! Leaving on Saturday for the beach in SC and any other time I would be so excited. I am so afraid I will miss a call while we are paddling in the ocean. I always forward my land line to my cell phone so that is not a problem. I have a waterproof case for the phone so now I just have to figure a way to be able to see the phone as I paddle. I do not dare mention this to my husband because he thinks I worry toooo much as it is. We will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary while we are there so I need to be more excited about the trip. I am hoping we get a call this weekend and we will get to know how Hell Week went. Veteran moms what are the chances they will get to call on Friday since it is a holiday? Should we hope for a call this weekend since we did not get one last week?
Good Morning All !
amilynne: I hear ya.....and know your pain....lost my brother suddenly at 51.....my heart still hurts, even though it has been almost 7 yrs....but I am comforted by wonderful memories! I hope you will be comforted eventually in that way too! Prayers for you....

Good morning everyone.
If you live in the New Port Richey/St Pete/Tampa FL areas please send me a message if you would like to attend a Navy Mom Meet and Greet. It will be held in the next two weeks :)
Good morning everyone. "T minus 3 weeks" before my husband and I hop in the car to drive from New Jersey!!! I know we are all ready to see our loved ones. Not hearing from my daughter during Hell Week has compounded my emotional state especially since I am approaching what would have been my big brother's 51st birthday. Death stinks no matter what the circumstances but an untimely and unexpected death of a 50 year old man who was so dear to me has truly taken the wind out of my sails. Going to PIR and seeing my daughter is the one bright and shining spot to my days. I apologize for the downer this morning, just felling my loss deeply today :-(
I do hope you all have a wonderful day and Happy 4th tomorrow.
