Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I still have not received my form letter and when I asked my SR on Monday about it he said...oh yea I need to mail that to you I keep forgetting. ( I wanted to wring his neck and say mail that darn thing lol) I did receive a letter from him today and a long phone call because he was needing information for security clearance in A school.

I haven't received a letter from my SR yet - was beginning to worry. I haven't even gotten a form letter. Hoping for a surprise in tomorrow's mail.

nancyf, I haven't received a letter from my SR either. I talked to him on Tuesday and he did say that they mailed them out on Monday. Hopefully I get my letter tomorrow and same to those of you who haven't received anything yet.

At scuba girl. My SR is not a letter writer either so I was surprised when we received three letters from him yesterday and two more today. They go through so much emotionally. I'm still tearing up just thinking about the incredible things my SR said unexpectedly. Just amazing!!

I am so happy that almost everyone has heard from their children. I on the other hand have heard nothing besides the first call to say she got there. I am praying that she is fine. Has anyone else still not heard from their future sailor

I was just scanning the random pictures. I didn't find my SR in any of the pictures, but it sure was fun trying to find him. It kind of reminded me of where's Waldo, LOL.

Hoping I get a letter tomorrow. As I have said before my son is not much of a letter writer. My friend says the Navy makes them write but if he needs to study or polish his shoes that is what he will do instead of writing a letter. I am confident all is well and I just look forward to seeing my Sailor in 35 days and 12 hours. No news is good news.

Lynn: I think you are referring to Navy GATEWAY Inn, correct? That one is located on A School base, not RTC. Navy LODGE is located near RTC, about a mile away, in housing area.
